The FreeFrom Food Awards

FreeFrom Food Award Labels

inkREADible are no strangers to awards and regularly, sponsor, attend and often proudly print the awards labels themselves. This is also true for the 2018 FreeFrom Food Awards.

What are the FreeFrom Food Awards?

The FreeFrom Food Awards is the UK's only industry awards for freefrom food. They were started in 2008 by FoodsMatter and FreeFrom Foods Matter to encourage innovation and celebrate excellence in the freefrom food industry. The awards are entirely independent, supported by sponsorship and entry fees only.

How did the FreeForm Awards Start?

The awards director Michelle Berriedale-Johnson has been involved with food sensitivity for nearly 30 years, ever since her family were diagnosed with milk intolerance.

Since then she has manufactured 'freefrom' food, run a magazine about food sensitivity for both health professionals and patients, written a number of books on food allergy/intolerance, devised over 1,000 'freefrom' recipes and now edits the FreeFromMatters family of websites, a major online resource for food allergy, intolerance and sensitivity.

In 2008 she launched the hugely successful FreeFrom Food Awards, followed in 2011 by the FreeFrom Skincare Awards and, this year, by the new FreeFrom Eating Out Awards.

Awards Co-ordinator, Cressida Langlands, joined the Foods Matter family in 2008, and ran the Foods Matter magazine’s subscriptions department until the magazine was finally put to bed in 2010, and FoodsMatter became a series of websites.

Cressida coordinates the entries and judging of the annual FreeFrom Food Awards and runs the awards social media sites, @FFFoodAwards and the Facebook page.

Sponsoring Awards 2018

The freeform sector is rapidly growing in the food industry and many companies are sponsoring the awards to help raise their profile with the people who actively look for freefrom products. Companies such as Tesco, FODMAP Friendly, Food Matters Live and Asda have already selected their sponsorship categories.
