The Artisan Marmalade Awards
Marmalade is absolutely our favourite part of breakfast, a true British breakfast staple. Thin cut or thick, bright coloured or dark, runny or well set, we love all marmalade on an equal basis. So, the job of judge at The Artisan Marmalade Awards must be extremely difficult and high pressured, especially with so much at stake; selected marmalade from the competition will end up on the shelves of Fortnum & Mason, so we are talking seriously good marmalade. This year sees the event in its 18th magical year, with entries not just from the UK but also from faraway lands such as Australia, Japan and Colombia, all competing for glorious medals.
How are inkREADible involved in the awards?
At inkREADible we are proud to be a part of such a wonderful event and supply the medal stickers awarded for the bronze, silver, and gold categories. Why are the awards stickers important and how can a competition like this help producers of artisan marmalade?

Award stickers grab attention and are a very important way of achieving new sales channels. Our previous medal winners include Single Variety Co, who previously achieved a silver medal from The Marmalade Awards, are currently stocked in Waitrose and Selfridges amongst others.

Being compared with the crème de la crème at the awards is the ultimate accolade, and did we already mention Fortnum & Mason? The Artisan Marmalade Awards offer a great networking opportunity with so many specialists in just one place sharing knowledge and offering advice on all areas from ingredients through to production and sales and marketing. Rub shoulders with industry peers, stockists, and fellow producers.
Press and media coverage
Winning an award or simply just entering the competition provides such a great opportunity for exposure on social media, other online channels as well as traditional press.
A great venue
The awards are held at Dalemain Mansion every year, which is a gorgeous Georgian stately home in Cumbria lived in by the same family for over 300 years. The place also has its own archive of Marmalade recipes which sounds absolutely intriguing!
Support a good cause
To date, the Marmalade Awards & Festival have raised substantial sums for Hospice at Home. Participating in the awards helps to give something back to worthy causes. Also, inkREADible donate 10% of the sales of the award labels to the chosen charity every year.
